Maths
At Shatin Junior School, we place a strong emphasis on the enjoyment of mathematics in our daily teaching and learning.
Our students’ development of mathematical understanding, their acquisition of skills and use of mathematical language, are taught through the practical, realistic context of the units of inquiry. Our students view and utilize mathematics not only as a supporting tool for solving problems; they are encouraged to use it as a way of thinking. It is important for our students to make meaningful connections between what they are learning in the classrooms; and to relate this to the significant mathematics in the world around them.
As a PYP school, our mathematics curriculum is based on the IBO objectives and the key objectives from UK’s Primary Mathematics Framework.
