Student Support Services

At Sha Tin Junior School we believe that all students are entitled to a broad, balanced curriculum. We recognise however that some students may require differing kinds of support in order to successfully access the curriculum.

SJS has a team of enthusiastic, experienced and well-trained educators who may be involved in giving extra learning support or intervention.

Student Support teachers and assistants work collaboratively with class teachers. This, together with a co-operative partnership with parents aims at further enhancing students’ learning.

Some students may be referred to external agencies for more detailed assessment and support of their learning difficulties. Such services include Educational Psychologists, Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists and Counsellors.

The Student Support Department is well resourced. The growing use of technology provides greater curriculum access for many students with specific learning needs.

It is expected that through early identification and effective support, all students will have the opportunity to achieve their potential.
